connealy 0 Posted December 16, 2004 Nice work, Hanna. The muted colors and tones along with the nicely balanced framework of branches perfectly convey the mood of the season - visual haiku. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted December 16, 2004 Nice composition which makes me think to a stained-glass window. Is just a pity that the depth of field is not sufficient for have the leaves in focus. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 16, 2004 When this popped up it caught my eye and I thought, "stained glass?"....but no! Just a beautifully done shot and a great idea. Well done! Gotta give this a 7/7...It is simply beautiful and a novel idea. If you don't sell several prints of this at an art show, I would be very suprised. This is one of those "shots of a lifetime". Get it into a gallery, an art show, just get it somewhere. It should be shared with others. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted December 17, 2004 Well, I am pleased - two people who saw what I did, which was stained glass. The leaves were intentionally left out of focus to give extra weight to the dark branches and leave areas of colour behind rather than distinct shapes. It was just at this shot that it began to rain and I had to dash for cover. Thankyou for your comments. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted December 17, 2004 Another one who saw stained glass and I agree with you Hanna about the dof to increase the stained glass effect. Link to comment
jdpariser 0 Posted December 17, 2004 WOW. This could be a great enlarged print! Nice job Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted December 18, 2004 No, the leaves must not be in focus. The whole effect would be lost. Hanna, as much as I love this and other recent uploads, I have to say that I am blown away by your new bio picture--what a great self-portrait! Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted December 18, 2004 Hi Lannie, thankyou on both counts. The bio pic was taken at my brother's 60th birthday party. If you look closely you can see where I cloned his big hand off my shoulder, so not a self-portrait but taken by someone who can make people look good after a few drinks. I hope you've recovered from your recent hospital visit. You can never get out of those places too fast. Link to comment
bradkim 8 Posted December 23, 2004 I love this pic, Hanna... Limited DOF with dark branches in the foreground makes a beautiful abstract feel in this image.... Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 24, 2004 How did I miss this one? Very nice, Hanna. It does resemble stained glass so you have achieved your goal. I like your bio picture, too. Link to comment
