wilsontsoi 0 Posted December 15, 2004 Ken, great colors and detail! The seafoam background contrast the orange feather beautifully while the white feather and black pupil establish the high and low range. Perhaps you don't need that much background at top (cropping off top will increase impact?) I really like this! ^_^ Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted December 15, 2004 This image is absolutely outstanding. The colors, the details, the composition, everything just plain works. Very well done. 7/7 Wilson's recommendation has some merit. Link to comment
glenn mellen 0 Posted December 15, 2004 Very beautiful colors. I too prefer a square crop. Link to comment
gabriella_lucia 0 Posted December 16, 2004 Another fine photo, brilliant color and the right sharpness. I think your crop is fine. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 16, 2004 I like the square crop, too. Nice color contrast and detail. Link to comment
dhawks 0 Posted December 16, 2004 I'll go for either crop, although the advantage of the square is you can say you shot it with a Hassleblad. Seriously, though, I think that the square format has a lot of advantages in terms of containing the eye, isolating the image, etc. It's not used often enough. I know the first time I used a square format camera, Rollei I think, I thought to myself, "I can't do anything with this!" Now, I often shoot 35mm with a square format in mind. And so it goes. Anyway, sorry for the rave (it only shows I care), well done. Regards, Doug. Link to comment

WJT 619 Posted December 18, 2004 One of your Best photographs Ken! Fascinating pose, great detail and color. The feathers have a nice sweeping flow. I prefer the headroom in your original rather than the square crop. That one seems cramped. Regards. Link to comment
