Guest Guest Posted December 19, 2004 Dmitry, I see you recently visited my home state! Thank you for your comments on my photos. This is a nice capture! Beautiful color, composition and light. This is actually a Great Egret, not a Cattle Egret. They can easily be confused because at times, the cattle egret is also solid white(During breeding season, they'll have some buff color on their crown). This bird is nearly the same size as a Great Blue Heron. The Cattle Egret is a little smaller and stockier than a Snowy Egret. Regardless, Nice Shot! Link to comment
dmozzherin 0 Posted December 19, 2004 Thank you for your comments! Laurie I decided on cattle egret because this bird was tiny, about the size of snowy egret. You can sort of estimate its size by mangroove leaves. However I can be wrong, I am not very experienced yet. I have to tell you Florida is fun! I and my son got diving licenses during our trip to Keys we dived at coral reef 4 times, it is magnificent! Link to comment
