joe604 0 Posted December 10, 2004 There were five Franciscan missions built in San Antonio, Texas, in the early 1700's. The Alamo is the most famous, of course, but San Jose was the largest and is the best preserved. The church is still in use and hosted a wedding the day we were there. This view is of the backdoor to the church and the ruins of the large convento attached to the rear of the church. I wanted a shot that captured the texture and character of the old stone walls.
