willy.marthinussen 0 Posted December 8, 2004 Hi..I think this is very beautiful work..however i would get rid of the frame or at least cropped it all around so that the dark around didnt show.. even so i think its a 6/6..the frame is to me a bit too much.. :) best regards --willy-- Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted December 9, 2004 I would keep the frame. I think the image is already over the top and the frame goes with it. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 9, 2004 she is quite beautiful. I also loved what you did with Denis' Wood nymph! Welcome to Photo.net. Lee Link to comment

hmausolf 0 Posted December 9, 2004 I do not like this kind of pictures at all. Just can't imagine, what it's good for. Sorry, but you have been praised, and I hope you can stand my rejection. Regards, Heiko Link to comment
melgama 0 Posted December 9, 2004 This is ART and I have a simple method - If I don't like something I ignore it... Try to do this and you could be better in your life... ;) Link to comment
gianpaolodettoma 0 Posted December 9, 2004 This is a great work in post processing. Nicely composed and realized Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 9, 2004 A couple of years ago, I did a piano-recording for a (well known they said) brazilian composer. Well, music is a different kind of art. But your picture and his music do express the same. It`s a question of mentality. So I agree quiet a bit with the kitsch aspect to it as heiko mentioned. Though I have to admit, this is perfectly executed. Best Regs. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted December 9, 2004 there is a place for all of us on Photo.net! Thank the good Lord we do not all shoot the same stuff the same way...how boring life would be, don't you think? As for people who bother to rate/comment of things they "do not like" - what is their point? If they can offer critique, all well and good - but otherwise? For example, I had one commentor who came into my polaroid transfer folder and rated everything low, commenting that she "did not like the effect" - well, why did she bother rating/commenting on it then? You just have to laugh at those people who would waste their time on something they don't care for - how silly of them. You must be true to your own vision, Mel and brush off the detractors. You are very welcome here, and hopefully you will have a good impression of our community! Looking forward to seeing more of your work. Lee Link to comment
randall paul 0 Posted December 9, 2004 Well if anything else I think the idea and the workmanship is excellent whether you like the photo or not. Imagination and individuality are what keeps us all different. It is so important to stretch ideas and take those risks otherwise everything just remains a clich鮠 Well done! Link to comment
hmausolf 0 Posted December 10, 2004 Hello again, most of the follow-ups of my earlier comment put a big smile upon my face. I understand that this is kind of a feed-back forum, and one shouldn't participate in that, if he can't stand any different opinions. I learned, that most of the people who commented-on this picture liked it a lot. So take my congratulations for that. For me, I tried to define, what photography is all about. I think there's no sense in putting wings on a pretty girl's back and placing her in an ancient frame with clouds in the background. You call this art, I don't. I prefer kind of a documentary approach to photography, and I don't like to see anything in the frame, that wasn't there at the time the shutter was fired. Two fine men, two fine opinions. I admit that it might be me, who is just unimaginative. But with this lack of imagination it seems to me, that you, the artist, failed to raise enough imagination. Isn't it a bit easy to photoshop those wings and the girl and the other stuff together? (I don't mean technically, because you've obviously done a good job in mastering photoshop.) If you spotted a naked girl with wings on, sitting on a frame in reality and took the picture, then I would call this art. Best regards to all of you, Heiko Link to comment
melgama 0 Posted December 10, 2004 I saw your portfolio and how you rate the photographers. Are you a photographer? Well... I?m not. I?m digital designer and I?m not really interested in your opinion because I don?t like your work too... :) So... you can stay in your port and I stay in mine. Maybe your life is not too good and you try to expend your time with someone that you don?t know but this is not my time. Bye Link to comment
tejas_patel 0 Posted December 10, 2004 Nice colour combination.I am neither a very good photographer nor an artist but as a normal person i feel the work as master piece. Link to comment
ivan_dzo 1 Posted December 10, 2004 Why did you ask for opinions if you abuse people who express their views politely and explain them? Link to comment
