The dark background contrasts superbly with the crisp green - I like the overall picture a lot. A little more DOF to captuire the ?carrot? would have been good.

Matt & Martin, thanks very much for your comments & appreciation. Yes, a bit more DOF would have been ideal. However, light conditions were not very optimal for sharply capturing a moving/eating bird sitting with its length pointed toward me.
