toddlaffler 0 Posted December 3, 2004 I really try not to get hung up on ratings, but who gave this a 2/2? What I find very interesting here is that I have a B&W version of this very same photograph in my People portfolio which has done very well, yet this one flops. (If you go strictly by ratings anyway) So my question is this... Is the B&W version really THAT much better than this color one? Or is it a fluke? In otherwords, is it a fluke that the B&W did so well or is it a fluke that this one did not nearly as well? In my gut I know that I personally like this image (color and B&W) and that is enough. The mother hasn't seen it yet either, hers being the only opinion that REALLY matters anyway. But I just can't help but wonder why the disparity in ratings. Again, I don't need high rates in order to like an image of course, just more of a curiosity of sorts. Any input is appreciated. Link to comment
kenten 0 Posted December 3, 2004 The bw is better, but this is far better than 22 or 23. I gave it 56 as opposed to 66 to the bw. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 6, 2004 Todd, I like both the color and b&w but prefer the b&w version. In this version, the red in the bottom right corner is a minor distraction and the skin doesn't appear quite as smooth. In the b&w version, the expressions seems just a little more exaggerated. That being said....I'm sure the mother will be thrilled with both and will probably want prints in b&w AND color. THIS IS ONE HAPPY BABY! Forget about the low rate. The person probably just hates babies (or life in general). Link to comment
