sunapeephoto 0 Posted December 3, 2004 Tripod with a level was used, but the right side of this composition feels like it is flowing out of the frame. Does this bother anyone other than myself and if so any hints to fix it. Rotating messes up the left side. Or any other comments or suggestions are welcome. Link to comment
rajeevthomas 1 Posted December 3, 2004 Very nice shot....lighting is good...but can approach the same place in a different lighting, I guess to enhance and to bring out some more colors off of the place! Link to comment
donald_l_fackler_jr 0 Posted December 3, 2004 I love the colors and the subject but I do feel as though I want to wander out of the picture to the right. Have you tried cropping the tree out. It makes a border on the left side pushing you to the right. Without the tree you want to follow the stream. Link to comment
sunapeephoto 0 Posted December 3, 2004 I do have a shot without the tree. My wife is painting this one. Link to comment
sunapeephoto 0 Posted December 3, 2004 Pretty nice flip David. I always forget you can do stuff like that in PS. Compositionally your version looks a lot better than mine. Link to comment
rkynast 1 Posted December 3, 2004 I like the shot with the tree better than the one without. Obviously you have tried cropping the right side but it still looks like it's listing every so slightly; I actually didn't notice until you pointed it out. I love this composition. Regards. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 4, 2004 I like what David did, including the frame. Funny how a flip can make a lot of difference in the "feel" of the image. Link to comment
sunapeephoto 0 Posted December 4, 2004 I like what he did also Kim. Richard, Thank you for the kind words. Link to comment

donald_l_fackler_jr 0 Posted December 27, 2004 had to look again, just to remind myself that the snow will eventually go away!! LOL I do like the shot without the tree. I don't feel like I want to leave the photo. I feel like I am free to wander through the nice fall colors. Hope you have a great new year too. Don Link to comment
sunapeephoto 0 Posted December 27, 2004 Michael, thanks for X-Mas wishes and I return them. I also look forward further interesting conversations and contests. Donald, the snow will go, but I don't mind that as much as I do the ice and freezing winds. Those will also take a hiatus in about three months. In the meantime keep working on summer photos to keep your spirits up. In the meantime I will shoot some winter scenes to post this Summer, when we could use the cold of winter . :) Link to comment
beethalin 0 Posted January 16, 2005 I like it with the tree. More deep feeling. Where is it taken? It?s really beatiful! //Bee Link to comment
sunapeephoto 0 Posted January 17, 2005 Hi Bee, This was taken in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Thanks for the interest. John. Link to comment
hugh_hill 0 Posted January 20, 2005 Wonderful shot John, It was amazing seeing just how much a border and a horizontal flip does to an image. I like the way you cropped it too just right in my opinion. Link to comment
