djarvik 0 Posted December 2, 2004 Very cool Idea. A little too much sharpening?...wel, maybe not! ;) Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted December 2, 2004 I certainly prefer this over the previous version. Very nice, Howard. Link to comment
Phil_Light 793 Posted December 3, 2004 Should be a cover for the Saturday Evening Post. It's even framed perfectly for it! Who can criticize a classic capture from the perfect moment! Link to comment
bens 0 Posted December 3, 2004 interesting introduction of some composition around the high key subject. Link to comment
warren williams 0 Posted December 3, 2004 Howard I'm flabbergasted! This is amazing! The detail is simply awesome. I mean even the little hairs on her leg are visible. And every little strand of hair on her head is there, right down to the last detail. How you do it I'll never know. Jeepers but it's good! Two very big 7's. Warren Link to comment
warren williams 0 Posted December 3, 2004 Sorry, me again. I know one shouldn't take the ratings that seriously, but really, who on earth has the guts (because that's what it must surely take) to give you a double 4? I guess it takes all types! Warren Link to comment
gcanyon 0 Posted December 3, 2004 Howard....I keep learning from you. This image is in motion....with your granddaughter(?) emerging from the slide to the lower left. Cropping her right foot was perfect, as she starts to exit from the frame. Rick Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted December 3, 2004 Howard- the composition is excellent, the detail is amazingly intricate, but for some reason the tonal range seems a little flat. What I mean is, it's just that she seems to blend into the slide without much contrast. Her skin and the slide are the same tonal range of gray. Just my opinion, but I think her skin tones should be lighter than the backround slide tones to make her stand out a little more. Since I didn't see the previous version I have no comparison. Just a quick layer mask change in PS, not real good either, but just to give you an idea of what I'm talking about, here's an example. Beautiful little grandaughter by the way, I am envious! (4 boys). Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 3, 2004 Howard, it is nice, but I realy agree with Jayme. I liked the other version better. I like the diagonal composition very much. Pnina Link to comment

home page1 0 Posted December 4, 2004 I personally like this over the suggested revision. Nice how you very accurately isolated the subject from the whited out bg. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 4, 2004 Howard I think the first one was the first you have uploaded? I think that it is the one which is the best of the 3.Pnina Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted December 4, 2004 The first uploaded version rec'd negative feedbakc. Go figure? Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted December 4, 2004 Howard, I really like this style. I wish you would give just a few of your secrets away. The detail is fantastic, particularly the highlights on her hair and skin. They give a sense of the sun without showing sky or colour. Her pose and concentration add character. There are so many alternative versions on offer here and they all have their good points. I'd be very happy if I'd produced the original. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted December 4, 2004 The alternative flavors are good, but I think what you had posted is still the most delicious. ^_^ Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted December 5, 2004 Another fantastic portrait from you. So vivid & beautifully done. I love this image. Link to comment
