San Marco safeguard site

I prefer this type of image far more than the "touristy" images of Venice, which are too common, so...I like this image, but also get a kick out of the clever boat and the fact that the operator is NOT wearing ANY kind of safety gear.... BTW While I suspect winter weather here (the haze) a slight de-blueing helps the image a lot.

I went away and, further, moved near to the San Marco safeguard site

whose works aim to protect the area from the repeated floods due to

the "acqua alta", the spring tides.
