Strive to isolate your subject - here the subject is the boy and the turtle. The backround is to 'cluttered'. You could have moved and shot from a higher angle to isolate the subject against the grass. Forgive my terrible photoshop example, but I think it will give you an idea of how isolating your subject could have improved this image.
