kslonaker 0 Posted November 28, 2004 I prefer the color version. I think the background in the other one competes with the bird too much. Great sharpness and detail - so important in bird shots. Simple and effective composition. Link to comment
r_e 0 Posted November 28, 2004 CR: A duck, carved from wood? A great effect! The picture "filled" by the object is persuasive too. RE Link to comment

wilsontsoi 0 Posted November 28, 2004 Wildlife with Howard's very own flavor. Like it. ^_^ Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted November 28, 2004 Another one that is a bit too bright for me. But the beak in the feathers with the eye looking into the camera almost gives a human feel to this one. Link to comment
maritatoftgard 0 Posted November 28, 2004 great capture..lovely textures on those feathers..6/7 Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 29, 2004 "Geese with expressions" could have been a another title.... lol. Great composition and beautifully exposed. Nice work 7/7. Best regards. Link to comment
warren williams 0 Posted November 29, 2004 Nice watercolour - oops, I mean photograph (if you know what I mean!) Yup I agree with Kim on this one - I think it works better than the b&w. It's actually a bloody amazing shot. It's one of those shots that you have to keep coming back to because it's so intriguing. Hat's off! Warren Link to comment
eduardo_covett 0 Posted November 29, 2004 I really like the idea, but the excecution is not perfect, but well done. The lack os details in the head disturbs a lot ... too much dead pixels and bad selection in PS ... I guess. Please, don't take this as an offence. I'm trying to help. Overall, it's a very original picture. The wood body is pretty good. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted November 29, 2004 It is the composition on this one that sets it apart from any other (it is a goose, isn't it?) shot I've seen. Very very well done! Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted November 30, 2004 Thank you all for your comments. Yes, Linda it is a goose. Link to comment
