curra 0 Posted November 27, 2004 This one has been shot in Madagascar. The woman is an artisan, working with aluminium cans in a "paleolithic" foundry factory. Because of that she has this dirty face Link to comment
charodiez 0 Posted November 27, 2004 Marina, what a great composition! The way you have cropped her head, so that her eyes become so powerful, also her neck & breast placed in the diagonal, and finally the kid on that corner. Very Good. I am jealous... I have uploaded the same crop, but this time with some sharpening... what do you think? Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted November 27, 2004 Marina, Those things on her face are actually serious burns... Link to comment

j_sevigny 0 Posted December 7, 2004 Marina, This is a touching portrait. It looks a little soft on my screen, but that wouldn't matter if it was printed in a newspaper since newsprint is more forgiving. It could have also been improved if the young lady wasn't looking directly into the lens. Otherwise, it's a provocative shot that makes me ask a lot of questions. Who is she? What country is she in? Is that skin damage on her face or just some kind of dirt? I would love to see more of your work. Link to comment
