I like this picture a lot. It has so little color, that it conveys the emotion of a B&W photo while keeping the reality of the moment. Great photo!!

Hello Howard,

This is a nice little picture. Your attention to composure paid off in this one. The position of line between the bridge and reflection is artistically justified to "break any rules" that people may think you have disobeyed <>.

I like it. Cheers, ~G

I am curious about Bill's statement above "I never would have thought of this". Do you mean the the reflection, tones, or actual composure? I guess I'm just a little curious of what you meant.

I meant that it's - after all - just a really ordinary concrete bridge. Anyone can take a good picture of the Golden Gate Bridge or a Buhddist Temple or some other inherently interesting subject. But, good photographers find interesting details or composistion in everyday life. I think most people (meaning me, actually) would just see the bridge and the water. But, a good photographer first notices the reflections and the attractive tonality and then finds an interesting composition. Good photographers work by taking things away from a photograph. You don't show the whole bridge and that makes it more interesting

Howard- this is really a wonderful image. It reminds me of Karen's Buck image in the muted, soft colors. On PN we get so use to seeing these highly saturated colorful images, we tend to forget the beauty in the subtle colors & nicely lit images. I really like the graphic art, traditional lined aspect of this, it is entirely flattering to this bridge and it's reflection. The bright rock in the middle left is maybe just a bit distracting and I might burn it a tad, but it in no way causes a negative impact. Beautiful shot!

Howard, it is taking what can be regular, not very interesting subject, and see what the lines reflected in the water, light and shadows, are doing to the image, and take the right crop.I like the composition and color as well. Pnina

It's all been said, Howard. Nice lines, love the muted colors and the reflections. I'd be tempted to clone out some of the specks in the water and on the bridge, but that's minor. Very pleasing composition.
