pete church 0 Posted November 22, 2004 That's beautiful. Simple and Calm. Would it benefit for a slight crop / airbrush of the reflection in eth water at the top? Great shot all the same. Cheers Link to comment

mspanakis 0 Posted November 22, 2004 Boats are like people, we recognise our conpatriots from miles away. I find the solid and opaque water extremely original. Link to comment
michaelseewald 237 Posted November 22, 2004 I believe you are right. I saw hundreds of boats a day, for 30 days straight while working the harbors on varying Greek Islands. This is the only photo I made of a boat in the entire time, very early one morning. It all came together in so many ways. Thanks all. Blessings, MS Link to comment
mathias 0 Posted November 22, 2004 Beautiful photo! Not much else to be said. Congratulations. Link to comment
erikadams 0 Posted November 23, 2004 Excellent depth and texture. It feels like you could reach into the picture and grasp the edge of the boat, feeling the texture of the wood. The colors are just perfect, having a watercolor quality. Although this is a common theme, you have done it uncommonly well. Link to comment
venicia_l 0 Posted November 24, 2004 Michael, beautiful image. When placing a title on a piece, it is not correct to use quotation marks in the title, nor to use "by" in the title line. That punctuation is for a printer, when listing your work in a publication. Most printers, however, will use the more correct form; the title only, in italics, no quotes, followed by a comma, followed by the artist's name in a Roman face (non italic). Boat, Patmos, Greece, Michael SeewaldOn the picture "frame," your title should read, simply:Boat, Patmos, Greece, Michael SeewaldVL Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 24, 2004 Looks like Greece to me i suppose. And very pretty Micheal. 7/6 Link to comment
michaelseewald 237 Posted November 24, 2004 Nice to know the 'official' mannerisms, thanks Venicia L. Link to comment
venicia_l 0 Posted November 24, 2004 Hardly official. Just long-standing custom and widely-accepted "style" in the printing industry.Using quotes to surround the name of your own work is analagous to using them when giving your own name. But when someone else refers to your work, they are using an alias, hence the quotes, or, more elegantly, italics.VL Link to comment
alan chan 0 Posted March 1, 2005 Simply lovely giving a sense of peace and tranquility. I like the appropriate balance of red and blue in the frame. Link to comment
