Wanted to comment on this last night but was too tired...comment fatigue, so just nailed a 6/6 to it. Its an excellent fish pic which actually transmits some kind of fish/human bondie thingie. You can see fishies vanity quite clearly...excellent shot Jerry.

Thanks for your comments. Spencer, this was taken in an indoor aquarium. No flash neither tripod was used. Paul, this fish is very friendly (maybe curious is a better word to describe it) and it actually toward to the glass when I took the shot. How nice!! No camera shy at all.

Jerry reading follow up..you must have a class tank. Mines just fresh but whats interesting is i tried to shoot it on film many times with film and its a dismal failure. No flash, on tri at every possible angle i get light blastback...lit with halides but they are high above...Your digit seems just like theres no glass there and discussed the lack of refraction abilities in the forum before. Think it works as a big plus in this situation. You think a polarizer would fix mine?

Paul, it's all about angle. In my Aquarium folder the first couple shots posted (note the year I put on the photos) are actually slides taken back to my college years. I used a Nikon FM2 with flash off the camera (my friend held the flash 30-45 degree and slightly tilt to the back, not the front, of the fish tank about 5-10 cm above the water on the side) and I fired it with the lens ( a 55mm macro) about 8-10 cm away from the glass. The digital shots are actually much easier. With Nikon 1.5X ratio, I can just use a regular 50mm lens with the aperture wide open (1.4 or 1.8), find a good angle without reflection and fire the shutter. No flash required because of the 1.4 aperture. But the image is a little bit softer though. Hope this will help.
