The anonymous nature of your subjects really adds to the mystery of that culture and that place. I think it's a very strong image.

Great Idea. Great framing. However I find that the women are a little too blurry. What shutter speed did you use? 1/15th? curious. But a kick ass photo none the less.

You have some amazing photos here but this is my favourite, for the misty, ethereal women among the solid veritical and horizontal hard textured blocks

Beautiful colors and excellent technique!

It amplifies your title, and to the stereotypes of this culture.

Title fit very well with both this image (hard to catch/spot even... visually) and the image I have in mind of those women in such country... doesn't mean they have no-power though, hidden one (sometimes the strongest)!

BTW thanks for your visit and messages on my images Jana!

Dear Jana;

A shot that really deserves talking about!

Imperceptible existence of the women are in strong contrast with the permanent stairs and wall, which is also emphasized by colors. The former are nearly non-existent, they are no more than shadows over the walls. Where are they?.. and when?

They are nothing but lies told for you! They are perceptible only in given moment and in given context. Your camera realizes their non-existence as you extend the time. And this is the crucial point that creates a contradiction between you and your Nikon N70! Although this is a time value problem for you, your N70 just interested in the spatial issue. Whereas you think "it is impossible to capture these shy woman", your camera has already became aware of their spatial impossibility.

Be careful, it is sometimes confused who is observing and who is observed!

I like it so much. I don't know if eliminating the third figure (the one at the left) the image can be improved, but is excellent anyway. The stairs give an interesting static point of view.

Hashim,

Thanks for your comment. This is not a creative blur.. It is the image as taken on slide. cheers Jana

hi Jana... i meant i liked how you used the camera shutter to get the movement and hence the blur. really nice effect, i didn't mean to imply it was done post exposure. actually much better right out of the camera... good stuff indeed you've shared here. thanks for the recent visit.

all the best

=)
