Thanks Howard, that's what I was hoping for. This lens executes well on the long end. I am considering this or the Signa 50-500. I have had luck with Tamron so that's where I am leaning. Now I must figure out why I should spend another $900.00 for a lens.

Howard, I like the shallow DOF, composition, and the colors. Hmmmm....you guys, that 200-500 sure sounds very attractive, but hate to think about an 86mm filter size. I guess you just leave it naked and do any filtration in PS? Looks nice and clean at ISO400, BTW. ^_^

Very nice, Howard. The lighting is very pleasing and having the bird to the far right works well. That does it - I'm now going to start getting into portrait character shots and compete with YOU! :)

I'd have to say the same as the previous comment ... a bit bright for my taste ... but I tend to love deep saturated colors. (Didja know that?) :-D
