jerry ting 1 Posted November 16, 2004 A Solitary Traveler walks along the railroad at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. What do you think about the color tone and composition? Comments and suggestions will be much appreciated. Link to comment
forrest_andrew 0 Posted November 16, 2004 ahhh, how i know that feeling. you've captured the serenity of such a moment well. the color tone works well as for as i'm concerned - the deep black of the 'traveler' stands out against the gray and the rest is in good exposure given the conditions. good stuff! bigsquashbuggy 0 Posted November 17, 2004 Mood is good as is the tone. Did you consider moving a bit further left? That way the viewer's eye would travel right to left (straight at first and then along the curve in the track). Nicely done. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 17, 2004 Ahhh was looking at this a long time thinking what to write...was something like, when you look at a pic and it takes you in there with it...now thats a pic, and this is one...then my mouse froze and got sidetracked...found the way home. Very very excellent Jerry...somethin about it. 7/7 Link to comment

jerry ting 1 Posted November 19, 2004 Hi all, thanks for the comments, suggestions and praises. And Paul, I am really touched by your words. Maybe it's the contribution by listening to Pink Floyd (I am a big fan too)? Anyway, the original picture has the railroad on the center and the tone is much more blue. I will keep trying different ways to re-create this image but so far this is best version I've got (IMO). Link to comment

hoang_tran 0 Posted February 5, 2005 I would say it is a well done comparing to the original. You have good eyes and a sensitive heart that manage to turn a mundane something into a valueable piece of art. The mood as well as color tone, especially tree's details on the right and the casting of tree shadows are well balanced. The only thing one probably can say, as someone already mentioned, is the rail line on the left hitting the corner of the frame, which causing a little unbalanced feeling, other than that, I think it's perfect.
