Thanks for the comments. Regarding the crop, I actually like portraits with the subject in a corner and a larger background and I was looking for this result when I shot the picture.

The detail in the hair and brow and the expression are all great, but the composition really does it for me on this one - the slant of the bookcase seems to go just right with his suspenders and his smile. Well seen!

I like the colors and expression of his face - very worm, delightful and optimistic photo :) only reserve I see, is in the composition - maybe to take horizontal picture? and place the character to right - those two vertical "lines" behind gives dynamic, but also lengthening picture too much - horizontal version would contain same content, but probably with more compact outcome.
