salvatore.mele 1 Posted November 15, 2004 First, let me commend you for having stopped worrying about that cloud, taken off gloves, taken out the camera, looked down (what I cannot really do sometimes, and shit would be one of those times) and taken this great shot. This told, which focal lenght did you use? I never found a way around these down (or up) looking shots, they all seem like someone is just kneeling in your snowy hilly backyard and you are shooting belly on the ground... this shot -unfortunatly- also fails short of conveying the exposure of that place... Looking forward to seing more of your clibing pictures. Link to comment
Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted November 17, 2004 Salavatore, While steep enough to be fatal if you fell, this route isn't technically difficult (you can see my partner is dragging the rope, while I climb unbelayed above him). We only belayed a couple pitches in 1,000 m. I broke 2 replaceable picks on one of my axes on the thin ice crux at the start of the route, so finished with one axe. As I remember I shot this with my 21mm. Link to comment

alex-m 0 Posted January 16, 2005 Now I don't have a fear of heights but this picture tickles vertigo a bit. Does it look steeper than it realy is? Some of my snaps do.ps my father was climbing in the 50s and 60s also.http://www.amp-design.com/mehl/nepal/pumori/color/thn/lwf0030.gifI am trying to learn how to salvage some of his old Photos. Some have deteriorated quite a bit. I am thinking about loading some of them to a folder and invite opinions on how to restore them. Would you let me know what you think? kslonaker 0 Posted January 31, 2005 Interesting perspective and I AM afraid of heights, so this immediately made my stomach drop. Beautiful place, though, and I can see the attraction to mountain-climbing. Link to comment
