salvatore.mele 1 Posted November 14, 2004 This old walrus male came to check out oursailboat, while we were cruising in arctic waters in Spitzbergislands, about a thousand kilometers from the North Pole.It was incredibly sunny, and as soon as he came out of the water heclosed his eyes as he could not bear the sun. Believe me, it was big, fast and scaring (and a bit smelly). I was happy not to be on a zodiacbut on a higher boat.I had never seen a walrus soo close, and I was and still am amazed bythe amount of scars he collected in his fights through all his life.I would greatly appreciate comments and suggestions (and, once you'rethere a rating, which is useful to get some photo.net visibility afterall) Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 16, 2004 Yes, the nicely shaven moustache made him a clean fighter, too. Nice crop. Perhaps, raising a little on the LEVEL might bring out some more details. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted January 21, 2005 Wow, Salvatore, this one has really had it rough. I've never seen one with this many scars. Very interesting shot. By the way, where have you been? I've noticed you've been absent from PN for a while. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted December 13, 2005 ...and, it was cold, the thing was swimming fast, and I had no tripod. Excellent side-use of a daggerboard. Link to comment
