The life goes on. The old Viking longboat against a modern freighter. Father and daughter in middle. Best viewed LARGE.

I have not been active lately going out to photograph. This shot was made last March, the same day as other image of mine "Under the Rainbow". First I decided not to use it because I do have two other images of this same subject. They are indeed much different, both as a silhouette, but here is the light spot on. It also has another messages so in the end I found it to good not using it. I hope you like it. Thanks in advance for your time, comments and ratings.

You were right to post it Baldur, it is very beautiful! The light , the sky, the title, the small figures, all works very nicely together.

Sending my love to Iceland while being here.. Pnina

Top rating, my dear. Fine composition and the contrast of colors between the subject and the background it's superb. Terrifc sky as usually, which adds a great mood to the image. Regards.

Thank you my dear friend for your comment and rating. I went through my shots from last months and came up with 3 shots from different subjects. In the end this was the only one I wanted to work with. I am really glad you like it. Regards, Baldur

I really like the composition, but makes me wonder. With the lack of light everywhere else, was the light just hitting this one spot? Amazing. I might prefer a little detail in the lights. Otherwise, wonderful image.

Greetings Baldur! I remember the previous versions "Friendship" and "Waiting for the right moment...", which were, as you mentioned, silhouettes of the boat sculpture. I like this version very much; the light changes the mood from that in the previous versions. The sculpture almost seems to float in this version.

Unlike in "Friendship", I do not think that the people here add siginificantly to the photograph. The main emphasis is on the sculpture. The father and daughter do not hurt the photograph, but they just are not needed here. Overall, a Very Good photograph. Regards.

Beautiful Baldur. I enjoy the subtle tones in the sky and the distant red boat, they state the range of the photograph without competing with the main subject. very beautiful work.

I am glad you think so. I try to share what I see and my feelings with others, through my images. Sometimes it works and sometimes not (3 (-:))
