Trying for an interesting and colorful composition.

mark, what have you done to it :0) it looks like an insect from star wars.

Another great macro shot, Mark! Excellent DOF and amazing details. It doesn't look like a full frame, but it doesn't really matter, you got a wonderful close up here.

 

Now, I want to thank you for your comment on one of my last macro shots. I do appreciate your opinion. I also agree with you that this is not a good shot. If it was one of your shots I would rate it below 5/5. the only reason I post this one, is that this is the first time I captured a bubbling fly and I was so happy about it. I also don't take the rating method on PN as a tool to value my results. The best way for me to do it is to compare my results to your images. I do so almost every day. Your macro gallery at PBASE is my inspiration.

Allon- Thanx for the kind words. I am glad my comment did not offend. I hope that bubbler will be the first of many! They are one of my favorite subjects to shoot. I like watching them make the bubble grow and shrink.

I love the colors in this one. I've noticed a lot of bugs have irredescent colors in the light and you've captured the beauty of this one nicely.
