I'm proud of this one. It was a pain to find the good channel mixingratio, as I wanted to keep a moderate contrast, while having a goodvisibility of all the elements.

I longly hesitated about the title. I wanted to put "Broadway lightanarchy" or "Broadway/37th", but the building at center-right inspiredme "The little king of Broadway".

Thanks for any critique about these choices or anything else.

You've composed this masterfully. No distracting elements on the edges or corners. Excellent lines leading you through the image and your conversion to B&W works exceptionally well. The contrast between the buildings in the foreground and the well lit skyscrapers behind make an extremely strong image. Your work has paid off here. I too would be proud. Congratulations.

Are you familiar with Berenice Abbott's photo from the Empire State Building? It was taken from virtually the same vantage point. The building in the foreground, with the gothic tower, and the building with all of the set-backs behind it are recognizable from her photograph made in the 1930s. The other buildings are obviously new construction since then. This is pretty well executed. I don't know if Bojan knew how correct he was when he said "not a new idea". Abbott's photo has a significantly wider view. I hope you've seen her classic photograph or will seek it out.

Hello, Kurt. I didn't know about her picture.

It is surely very difficult to make something new from this so much visited point of view. When you "search" for a picture with your camera, you surely will shoot a picture already done.

But I am happy to have "found" this picture without copying the masters.

Thanks for the info. I'll look for B. Abbott's work.

Here is a version with a halo around the lights, that looks like the oldish night pictures. When retouching I hesitated between these two versions.

But I preferred the first, more sharp and giving better tonalities. The halo is not very much in my style.
