Thanks Sam, this reminds of the time I visited Cape Cross seal colony. Stinky!

 

I think this image would have had more impact if all you could see was seal and nothing else. So no sand and no bush. Also, it might be interesting to try taking from a lower angle, so you have a seal's eye view.

Doug, although I was very close to those seals, I stood behind barbed wire on a low dune.... Getting eye to eye with these seals didn't appear to be a good idea. Behind me was a parking lot, left & right from me were lots of other photographers & sightseers - 'nature' ! Thanks very much for your critique & comments.
