robertbrown 1 Posted November 9, 2004 Comments, ratings appreciated on old barn. Please compare to the b&w version in this portfolio. Thanks Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted November 10, 2004 In this version I happen to see "just" the sign. I find it amazing how eye-catching it can be. At the same time, the contrast between the decaying wood and the (street?) number which seems to outlive it is nice. The aiplane trace is disturbing me, but this happens at a much more deep level of investigation of the image, so that's not so much of a problem at first sight. The composition is very balanced, with everything in the right place: angle of the street, amount of grass/roof/sky. The possible exception is the tree too close to the barn, but I guess it's also used to hide something behind it. In summary, here the sign is the all story. Link to comment
nello 0 Posted November 18, 2004 I usually hate pictures of barns (portrait photog...) but this is the best picture of a barn that I've ever seen here. If I may be so bold, -This pic has portratit like qualities. (if that makes any sense...) It seems to have character. It seems to have a story. Nice. Link to comment
