A different and original portrait ... I like it for the cropping and the sharpness ... and it was the look ... of conventional wisdom ... that cought me in here.

Had the same thoughts as Jayme about the hat/hair. If he was my poodle then.... yeah!! I would ask him to take of the hat when we were having dinner!! That's all.

I have to ask - have you tried the high-key effect on this one? I keep picturing it in b&w and think it might be stronger. It has such great detail in the beard and fur hat, which is why I ask.

Yeah, but how could you resist!? This looks like some character at an NFL game or something (remember ... I come from Buffalo ... you have to dress WARM to go to Buffalo Bills' games!) He's GREAT!!
