sondra kick 0 Posted November 6, 2004 This was typical scene through the mountains of W. Virginia. Any thoughts on this photo would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Sondra Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted November 6, 2004 Magnificent view! Did you take one standing on that log across the river? (:-)) Link to comment
tc_reed 0 Posted November 9, 2004 Very lovely scene you've captured! Being as I was born and raised in South Charleston, I'd love to know what part of the state you found this spot. It reminds me of some of the territory around the Holly River and Cranberry Falls area. At the same time, most of the state looks like this in the fall. Great photograph! Link to comment
sondra kick 0 Posted November 9, 2004 Please forgive my error. This photo was taken near Covington, VA. Just across the state line from you. Its called Falling Water Cascades on US 220. You can see it from the highway. Sondra Link to comment

thomas_turk 0 Posted December 8, 2004 The colors here are muted, drab and plasticky. Pity you went back to photog. with digits. As the formulae for color in nature are UNKNOWN, digits cannot be programmed to capture the vibrancy and color of nature, nor can they capture the fine nuances and contrasts. Only film can do that. Clouds will be dead and featureless, as will detail such as in this falling water. This photo.. is a bit overexposed, so there is now not enough dark for balance and harmony. see/read/study.. The Tao of Photography by Tom Ang. Digits can work, but only with spectacular lighting, which one cannot get most of the time one sees a shootable scene. see/study jaymaisel.com and photos4u.dk. Apologies for a nasty critique. Link to comment
