This photo has been re-worked by applying shadow/highlight filter from Photoshop CS, both to bring out the darkness of the male figure, right, and to reduce the backlighted intensity of the movie poster transparency featuring the photo of an actress playing a controversial early-century English abortionist. If you previously have seen the posted photo, please let me know what you think.

If you previously have viewed this photo, you probably will need to refresh your browser to clear the old image from your cache and to view the new, reworked image.

Enjoy!

This previously posted photo from a Travelogue folder featuring

thousands of views, has not been submitted before for critique

because the male figure was too dark to be viewed. It just has been

reworked using shadow/highlight filter in Photoshop CS. (If it is

still too dark for taste, you may have viewed it before and may need

to refresh your browser). Your comments and ratings and invited and

most welcome. (If you rate harshly or very negatively, please submit

a helpful and constructive comment/Please share your superior

knowledge to help improve my photography). Thanks! Enjoy! John

The woman's face is on a movie poster outside a local movie house.

The figure portrayed (by an actress whose name is unknown to me), is Vera Drake, a otherwise very ordinary woman who was tried for being an illegal abortionist at a time when it was forbidden almost everywhere (thus making her a heroic figure to liberals and many females -- very fitting for Santa Cruz which once had a Socialist mayor but is increasingly becoming the rich, beach suburb of Silicon Valley, and with a formerly rundown downtown which suddenly is sprouting upscale chain retail outlets, statues on the sidewalks, and becoming more like a 'mall' than the hippy and street bum hangout it was predominantly not more than two years ago).

(As originally posted before Request for Critique, the man's figure was just too dark for success, as I hadn't found the shadow/highlight tool in Photoshop CS when first posted.

(However, it was unrated and uncommented on, so the switch did not disassociate any comments/critiques).
