Mike, superb lighting here accentuates the face of this interesting man. I like having him in his environment. I find the depth of field distracts my eye to the truck behind. Perhaps I'd prefer that to be a bit out of focus. And perhaps its just me. Anyway, well done shot.

I see that the overly technical nit-pickers are at it again. I am referring, of course, to the preference for the background to be out of focus.

 

In order to accomplish this "preference" I suspect you would have had to shoot this photograph with a minimum of an 135mm or a 200mm telephoto lens - an impossible task given the usual dimensions of a garage. It's too bad that more people don't pay attention and/or honor the circumstances under which photographs are taken.

 

Once again, you have exhibited an excellent photographic eye and have coupled it with an equally superb photographic technique. You have also provided a prime example of the fact that it is the photographer that creates and takes the picture - not the camera.

 

Although I am somewhat of a die hard Leica photographer, I do pay homage to excellent photography as seen here.

A very nice environmental shot. As Doug notes, it might have been helped a bit by less depth, but I think we're being picky on that point. It works fine as it is. 6/6
