John Crowe 165 Posted November 4, 2004 Taken just as the sun is burning off the morning mist. Let me know what you think. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted November 4, 2004 You would have to crop out all the low part too dark. Good effect with the mist in the distance. Link to comment
sunapeephoto 0 Posted November 4, 2004 I agree with Henri that the forground is too dark. Crop so that picture begins with lillies. Other than foreground; great photo. Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted November 4, 2004 If you do crop the bottom, it should only be to just underneath that bit of duckweed right of center. It may be dark, but there is detail there. At first I thought the middle ground was too empty, but the reflection is subtle and fills it nicely. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted November 6, 2004 John, Another vote for cropping about 1/2 the dark bottom. Otherwise, nice offering. Without the mist this would be just another snapshot. Good for you, getting up early to be able to portray the 1st light mood of this location. This is the attitude that separates the good photographers from the also-ran's. Best, LM. Link to comment
John Crowe 165 Posted November 7, 2004 Okay, this is about as far as I would go. The original slide of course shows much more detail than this, but even so the composition probably ends up a little better balanced. Yes, I wish I could be out ready for photography every morning an hour before sunrise but unfortunately I have a real job. It works great on vacation though because I sneak out when all are asleep and I get back before they have even rolled out of bed! Thank-you all. Link to comment
