Police before the World Bicyling Championship

Took this waiting for the start of the world cycling championsips

here in Verona last month

wow, where was this? it may look nice with a veritcal crop

It was in front of an old castle (called Castelvecchio) in downtown Verona. Verona has a Roman arena where they have outdoor operas each summer. The figures are from one of the operas and they placed them around the city during the race. The vertical crop didn't work for this shot because I wanted to see the three motorcycles. But I have another one verttical with one cop and another with a lot of fans standing on the statue.

wow nad one more wow! I would surely wait until there's noone at the wall and I'd take another picture. The monument seems to be worth it. Great.

Thanks Krysztoff. Unfortunately, they put it there about 3:00 in the morning and took it out right after the race (it's actually opera scenery). I do have some nice shots of it in Piazza Bra in front of the Roman Arena. They left it there for quite some time, but it was staacked with a lot of other scenery so it wasn't quite as impressive.
