Is the horizon too centered? Does the tree on right detract? It was

a hazy dawn, is it too soft?

 

Thoughts welcome

I personally think the tree on the right frames the shot really well. Perhaps a little soft, but I really do love the colours, great shot.

Regina, I love everything about this photo except the sauration. It seems too strong for the hazy soft light. On the other hand, it creates more of a surrealistic atmosphere and so I am torn....

Very nicely composed. I particularly liked the diagonal inclusion of the tree trunk in the right frame. It adds a different blend to the whole scene. Water horizon is perfectly defined. A cow in the frame is a good thought as this tells about the theme of the picture. You got a very good reflection in the water as well. The only thing which doesn't fit in are the artifial looking too saturated colors which can easily be corrected in photoshop. Nice work... Regards.

I like this one better because of the full bovine shot. I have been trying all fall to catch a cow next to water and I am now giving up because this is the tops!

LOL Leann, there are a couple of small ponds in my area where the cattle graze nearby. Once in a while you can see them actually wading in the water. Especially on warm days. I always get a kick out of seeing that.

Hmmmmm. Not quite the same.....

Why not... They can both be either humorous or enthralling. We all may know some farm boys who don't know the difference! God bless 'em.
