Hi Sam, I know for a fact that you can take better photos than this. The small preview doesn't give us any clue as to what is actually going on. Your caption help a lot, because it made me concentrate on the kid with the coincidental robot-like head. Unfortunately, the person with the bright red coat demands more of our attention, so the possible funny side of this goes a little astray. I'm not sure if I like a square crop either, though. Possibly something to do with the background detail...

Hi Peter, my sense of humor most possibly does not coincide with the s.o.h. of most of the viewers of this snapshot. Furthermore, I tend to like 'messy' photos as, more often than not, that is how reality shows itself to me. In my idea, nice photos frequently are abstractions of such situations. I think they are considered nice as most of us appreciate more the artificial tidiness of such irrealities than the hodgepodge out of which they have been lifted. (See my US Pelican folder, where I have included a very disorderly scene showing the environment where those birds live.) I have no problem with sometimes showing what I like instead of searching for the kind of approval as shown by high ratings. Oftentimes my photos are rated by a number of viewers from 1 to 7, somewhat evenly distributed. That shows, at least to me, that good taste is not a universal value. It's up to anybody to like this or that. OK, that's it on an early Sunday morning where wintertime has just started. Thanks very much for your critique & the trouble taken to show me an alternative to my trying to be pictorially funny. Have a very nice day! Sam.
