For kicks, I took this photo and stripped the pink. Really, I like it either way. So I guess that makes it purely a matter of preference. I don't think the pink detracts at all. It is a lovely photo (and a lovely subject). The blurring and tones make me feel nostalgic, maybe a little dreamy. Maybe it's the pink that does this, because when I reflect further, it doesn't seem like this was your intent?

Well then, bring it to the table, now...come on. Behel always shows me what he does to my images. I usually appreciate it, because very often I am so close to the work, that I miss something. I've been working in an art trance the past couple of days, so I don't know what my intent was here or how it happened...but I dig this image. I can't wait to get the film back from this shoot.

OK. OK. Bossy. ;-) I've attached my quick conversion. I used a red contrast, color to BW conversion because I felt it kept the strong highlights you seem to use a lot. They might be a little bright, but should give you a good idea of what a non-pink version looks like.

Beautiful. Intense expression of a beautiful woman. Slight and pleasant blur, some empty space, vaguely moody. If you ask about the highlights i tell you that pink is not the best choice ... just an opinion. Regards, Tiffany.

thanks, tiffany, looks like i'm still with you even when i'm not.

lol

well, i guess if you turned that pink in the first place is because... you liked it, so be it

if you're unsure now, it may only be because you've been a bit macho with that pink.

lol.

seriously, what i would do is only soften the pink.

add a color balance layer, preserve luminosity.

highlights -10 on cyan/red, +4 on yellow/blue

midtones -12 on magenta/green

shadows -10 on cyan/red, -10 on yellow/blue.

perfect !

at least, for my taste.

all this is a very, very subjective matter of taste.

whether red, green or blue, kara is beautiful and this portrait is too.
