atle.g 0 Posted October 28, 2004 Do you find this comp unbalanced? Your honest inputs are as always appreciated. Thanks!! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 28, 2004 As usual, your wide-angled images are always a pleasure to view.Perfect reflection but the shadows in the clouds may be a little too dark. Link to comment
kyang 0 Posted October 28, 2004 Atle, the composition is pretty much well-balance as I feel. My nit would be the exposure of the cloud in the water seem to be over from this scan. Maybe the slide is much better. Very nice work. Link to comment
poutnik 1 Posted October 29, 2004 The composition is rather well balanced, and the overall impression is pleasant and calm... Jiri Link to comment
atle.g 0 Posted October 29, 2004 Thanks for the inputs!! Personally i get a feel that it might "hang" in the lowest left stone, not having the right tempo towards the background. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 29, 2004 Atle...hi. A bit unbalanced i think cause of those 2 rocks left..distracts the eye. Unless you go out and move them...or God forbid ps them, what can ya do? The sky seems overexposed and its oversharpened...other than that its just fine lolol. Reflection is super. Link to comment
atle.g 0 Posted October 29, 2004 Thanks Paul, i consider the left stones to have a balancing effect, but you might be right... since they are breaking the stone line from left to right. And..yes its a bit over but the slide look better...since i dont scan myself, i have to live with it :-) this conditions was in fact ideal for me at this time since i had just got my Hard Grads, and was able to put them to a real test.. using both the .6 and .9 ! v 0 Posted January 1, 2005 a very beautiful shot. I have a feeling however that the horison is screwed, I don't know for sure (right side seems to be sliding down). Lovely place, beautiful colours and a very special light. We want more pics of this place! :) Link to comment
allan wallberg 0 Posted January 12, 2005 Beautiful colours and very nice light in this landscape shot Atle,__Regards Allan. Link to comment
dmitri_zakovorotny1 0 Posted February 6, 2005 Very good, but I think you need second shot exposed - 2 EV to take highlights and stitch 2 shots to avoid overexposed areas.6/6 Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 10, 2005 I like the view here and colors, but too much high light on the surface of the river for me! Thank you, Biliana Link to comment
atle.g 0 Posted February 10, 2005 Yes, its very contrasting, wich is not too appealing. The thing i liked best with the shot is that my Lee hard grads wich i purchased short before i took this... are splendid. I use 5 stop here. Keep shooting Billiana, and keep on with honest critiques. salvatore.mele 1 Posted March 6, 2005 I am really projected nto the shot, here, the arrangement over a single diagonal of the stones is impressive, and is very well composed the way this triangle is echoed by that formed by the grass to the right. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 7, 2005 looking at your three latest uploads, I must say that your compositional style greatly interests me. I keep watching for your future uploads since I don't care to comment on a photo at the bottom of the critique comments heap. (I may not care much about photos visibility on this site as much as I do about comments visibility!) Link to comment
atle.g 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Thanks guys. I do have some problems with the lowest stone, my eyes get somehow stuck there... a little longer than i appreciate, but cropping it away is not a good idea either. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted March 19, 2005 Atle, IMVHO the thing that bothers me with this image is the second cluster of rocks. My eye starts at the bottom left and is drawn into the image until the right hand cluster which distract me from the rest of the image behind it. Link to comment
atle.g 0 Posted March 21, 2005 Thanks Jeff. I wonder if a left crop, taking away the lowest stone, (wich i find too dominating) and the most left one, could improve this, because the remaining stones might appear more connected to each other. Link to comment
