billangel 9,671 Posted November 24, 2004 Actually, I think that this is a better image than your other stranded whale picture. It depicts the setting where the event occurred, the fact that multiple whales were fatally stranded, and (I think) a look of sorrow on the face of the photographer. Link to comment

blknwhtfoto 0 Posted November 27, 2004 Nice shot. excellent contrast. Might like a bit of cropping out the sky though Link to comment
paul_sokal___dallas__tx 0 Posted November 29, 2004 The reason I rated this A4 is I think the whales need to be more prominent than the photog. His emotions aren't apparent enough to carry this image, a very sad one, IMHO Link to comment
j_sevigny 0 Posted December 7, 2004 This is an incredibly powerful shot. The background is just perfect. I agree with the above comments about the photographer, however. If the story is about whales, they should take center stage. Link to comment
dominikazielinska 0 Posted December 10, 2004 Thank you for your comments. I think that this is more about the relationship between the photographer and nature (although my other shot probably shows this better where the whale and the photographer are face to face...) all in all it's a sad event and it guts me how people still whale despite the beauty of these creatures - you wonder why more use isn't made of what we are given...
