She seems annoying...

From a distance I really liked this, but when I looked closer it seemed to me that her expression was a bit odd. Her cheeks aren't smiling - in fact they almost look glum.

Nice! A bit too much fill flash, and on my screen it seems like the shirt has some green/cyan cast. You know Chris...looking at all your pictures I can't help noticeing that you're into portraits..BIG TIME! :-))

You would benefit greatly of having a reflector screen.... Lastolite has some brilliant ones. I have one which is 95cm, with gold on one side and white on the other. It works really...REALLY well for just this type of pictures. :-)) See you mate!

Yeah...I've been thinking about getting a reflector or making a home made one. But it looks like the Lastolite is very reasonably priced. I'll have to check them out. As for taking portraits....it's this infernal, yet glorious 85mm lens(really the only one I have besides a cheap 28-80mm). It's got me hooked. I love that thing! I really want to look into the 135mm f2 L. I've heard good things about that too!

You can cheat and buy some windshield sunscreens in bright silver or gold. They work fairly well and are cheap!

 

I have to say I prefer the b&w shot of this girl. This pose isn't quite as natural.
