IMO the water is better in purple and the sky in orange, but that wont help you a lot. Use them both beside eachother.

Beautifull shot Atle, let your choice depend on the atmosphere of the Hotel, wich colors will work best, or mood, or wich images will blend together best. This one is worth exposing.

Atle, I like the new version more than the original one. This is close to great which I like a lot.

I have read some critiques by you today. Those are some best critiques on landscape work these days. Really enjoy it.

BTW, I am very curious what size you usually print out for exhibition?

Thanks for the comments! Kurt... im probably going for A4 format photo 21 by 29,7 cm with a 30 by 40 cm frame... because i have a few laying around ;-) however i dont really like this format,i think 28 by 35 cm has a much more dynamic ratio between width and height.

Atle, thanks for the useful information. Lately I have some fun printing our a few of my photos. But I didn't know which sizes I should stick to. Right now I have better idea.

Personally I like this version more, it has a warmer atmosphere and a more welcoming one.
But your choice should truly depend on the context of the other photos and the envirnment you'll put them in.

Regarding the format, I think 20x30cm is a tad small for landscape photos, can't fully appreciate the detail and get the sense of immersion you have with larger formats.
It all then reduces down to cost and practical issues.

Lovely landscape.

I guess it's too late for advice, but I prefer this version with warmer hue overall, not sure if this is true to what it actually looked like at the time, but I would be curious to see.

EE.. The scene looked liked the attached version i uploaded... well of course, an evening shot with use of velvia always alter the real scenery a bit.. ispecially blue tones. Regards!

....for your great suggestion on my "Eagle At Sunset" image. I will crop the image to the size you did mention and will upload it later on. As it comes to this landscape image of you....It's wonderful like all your images. Just love the softness and color tones in the background and the foreground do give the image a beautiful sence of depth....Cheers, Harry

Nice evening sky and reflection. My nit with this photo aestethically is the nearest FG which is cold and lightless in stark contrast to the warmth of the sky. The lower right corner holds little interest. Also I'd like to see the trees more carefully presented against the mountains in the BG. All in all very minor nits, but it's so easy to deconstruct an image after you've developed it, right :). I always find flaws with my own images when I get home to the lighttable and computer... Good to see you posting again Atle! Keep it up!

Very nice image. I think I would use the posted version. I would pay attention to the colors of the celected photos which you are going to use at the exhibit beside this image and the atmosphere in the room before your final decision. Good luck and thanks for your try to help. Regards, Baldur

If it were mine to decide, I'd put this one up for the show. There's a far away view to this version and the sky & water sometimes really does look exactly like this. With the other, we get a bit caught up with the near tree (blur or not etc). This the eye just drinks in the WHOLE :)

This gives a gread idea of depth, and I like the justpoxition of the gentle slope in the foreground and the sheer faces of the background.

A small thing I would have done different would have been to shot a few steps from the right, so to get the foregorund trees all against the mountains and not against the water.

Salvatore, thanks for your inputs on my photos.. appreciated. A few steps to the right could have been good.. but there is a huge telemast there with support wires spread out, it's very annoying,.. its placed on the best spot in the whole area. Regards!
