Cold landing

We spent 36 hours looking at this iceberg, after having gotten stuck into the ice at the horizon with our sailboat, while waiting the wind to have mercy on us to try and find a way out of the ice...

I got friendly with this iceberg... we spent 36 hours in our sailboat,

moored behind a small island in front of this iceberg. We were a

thousand kilometer from the North Pole, in front of the remote and

seldom-visited East Coast of Spitzberg island, North of Norway. We

were waiting for the wind to calm down, after a failed attempt to pass

through the ice at the horizon. This iceberg was mesmerizing me in the

strong side light of the northern night, and the stillness of this

scene was broken by that bird which decided to land...

Comments on the shot are most welcome, in particular the composition,

the contrast of the single front iceberg with the packed background,

and whether, as I fear, the bird is simply invisible...

I think the composition is fine on this, however the exposure is a bit dark. Possibly your meter was fooled by the bright snow. It looks like it could use about 1 more stop exposure to see the bird properly. Regards.
