kymtman 1 Posted October 25, 2004 I would like your opinion on the placement of the mill in the scene. Does it make the 1/3 rule? I have some to say that they did not like the shadow of the tree on the south face of the Mill. Personally, I think the shadow adds to the realism of the scene. The photo looks a lot like a painting when printed on mat paper. Thanks in advance. Link to comment
eye2eyephoto 0 Posted October 25, 2004 I don't think the shadow hurts the pic a bit... and I think it's well composed.. great colors!! Link to comment
casey_crookston 0 Posted October 25, 2004 The shadow of the tree on the mill is wonderful! But I would like to see the camera panned to the right just a tad... rule of 3rds as you say. Link to comment
glenn mellen 0 Posted October 25, 2004 I like the shadow on the wall face... think it adds interest. And... I think composition is done very nicely... altho' it might (or might not) have been an improvement to the photo if camera had been panned right a bit... hard to tell until one sees a comparison. But I wouldn't be too concerned about always meeting the Rule of Thirds... it's only a guideline, and some photographs are better when this general guideline is ignored. One thing I see as a flaw... the waterfall is severely blown out. More detail would've been a big help. If proficient in editing and blending, perhaps this flaw (as I see it) could be adjusted. Very nice photograph! - Glenn - Link to comment
