Yes the subdued lighting makes for an atmosphere of 'time passing quietly' (or something :-))

Excellent mood, Bente.... You are posting excellent still-lifes one after another. I am noticing also that Ken, the great master of still life, is becoming an enthusiastic fan of your images....

I have to agree it does have a melancholy feel to it. . .I love the lighting and composition.

Bente- This is really beautful. Wonderfully subtle light mixed with stunning detail and composition. I always look to see what length of lens was used. I notice you don't have anything listed. May I ask 2 things. Is this natural light and what lens did you use? Beautiful!

Jayme ... the lens used for this one is the all round lens Canon 24-85 f/3.5-4.5 USM.

The light is natural daylight comming through some dirty barn windows. Shuttertime for this one is 8 sec. and apparture f/11 underexposed -1. Because I am -4 on each eye I mostly is using the auto focus even I have extra diopter adjustment on the viewfinder.

I'm just starting to discover your work Bente...this one is lovely, the texture of the rose is delicious, the composition "nonchalant", really nice!

I would saturate a little bit but is just my opinion

I have lately been receiving several very nice comments on my stills from photographers I higly admire myself and I just want to tell I do appriciate them very much ... from photographers who have been a great inspiration to me.

 

If I'm worthy to carry the torch I don't think so but I'll absolutely do my very best ... even it is getting harder and harder ( the barn-studio is getting pretty cold now ) and I also have the wish to do better and better ... please bare with me if I don't succeed .. and your comments will also in the future be higly appriciated as a help to me to do my best. Thank you is a poor word ... but the best I know of ... so thanks, friends!!!
