How much time do you spend photographing? Between your photo skills and your Photoshop skills you have some stunning works. This wood duck is amazing! What color was the water in the original shot?

Hi Casey, believe or not, the background color is original, not PS. I know, it's unbelievable but it is true. All I did is just sharpen the image and add contrast a little bit. That's all. Nikkor EDIF AF 300mm is a very sharp lens and it produces great images. The camera is a Nikon D1X. I had this big argument with this PN member on one of my photo (Shout II) and he just could not accept the truth that I DID NOT use the fake PS background on that shot. Take a look.
