Geyser Creek with fall colors

chris_conrad

This was the one day I managed to get out looking for fall colors. 8 second exposure--standing in the water. I was hoping it would stay sharp with the rushing water as I pressed down on the tripod to minimize the vibrations.

The composition of this image is wonderful; the eye is drawn down the river just as if it was a part of the water itself. Well done.

Brilliant shot. luv the flow& the color with stunning composition. the foreground rock enters dramatically into the frame.

I like the rock in the foreground but I feel it plays a bit too dominant a role in the composition. The bottom half seems to pull my eye downward rather than up the stream. Do you think a square crop would work? The dark areas along the edges of the creek seem a tad dark too, but that may just be my monitor. Overall it's a nice image.

A strong composition, Chris, and with other possibilities I think. There are two distinct subjects here, the bold angled rock in the foreground and the flowing stream. Together they provide a competitive tension, but separated they might still individually provide their own valid context. did you take more shots from other perspectives? Regards, Mister Ken
