Guest Guest Posted October 22, 2004 Bob, I like where you're going with this one. At first glance, it views like a landscape. I'm also drawn to the texture color and lines. You've managed to give this a subtle sensual quality. One thing I might have done is push the color play a little further. The darker and cooler the color, the more it will visually move to the background. To create some tension, I might have moved one of the yellows to the back and/or put the red one in the front. I might also add one more pepper to the mix. I typically don't like even numbers. These are just minor suggestions to consider. Overall, I like this as it is. Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted October 22, 2004 Imaginative and original. I like the two yellow peppers together; it makes it more interesting and suggestive to me than if the colors were alternated. Link to comment
pdoyle 0 Posted October 22, 2004 Great idea! I'd like to see this done with chilis that are more similar in color, like different greens -- you might end up with something that looks like all those compressed telephoto landscape shots people are always posting. Not sure if it's DOF but the front chili doesn't seem to have the texture that the other three have. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted October 23, 2004 Mmm, that's another twist and turn in your abstracts, and one I definitly like. I like the way you composed this, with that arrangement for the colour gradient. I also like the way the fron yellow one gives depth to the rest of the image and effectivly triggers the landscape illusion in the full frame. As mentioned by other commenters, I'm slightly disappointed by the lack of texture in the foreground capiscum. Was it intentional? Why? Another question, did you use anything more than what vegetable sellers already coat our food with, to have the slightly shiny effect? Link to comment
louise bridge 0 Posted May 13, 2005 It's a pepperscape. I might have commented some of the things already said above but there they are. What intrigues me is that the apparently less fresh looking red pepper is also the more interesting photographic subject texture-wise. I never would have guessed at this, you know. Anyway, I really like this image. From the thumbnail, I thought maybe you had just simply sliced up those pairs at last and this image was of their sliced translucence. I did not guess it was a pepperscape. Link to comment
