gabriella_lucia 0 Posted October 19, 2004 Well the composition is good, nice perspective captured. The detail is there and as usual the Canon 2.8 gave you nice bokeh. 6-6 Link to comment
bryan_willis 0 Posted October 19, 2004 I agree with all of Pete's points. What was the focal length? Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted October 19, 2004 Very excellent with just the right amount of contrast. This works for me. Gets a double six from me. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted October 19, 2004 Yes sir, it was the "owl" that I commented on last night (one too many glass of merlot...) Wish you didn't pull the plug on that poor owl. He didn't do anything wrong. This is a very nice capture, Ken. Shot wide open, or stopped down a little? Yes, nice bokeh too! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 19, 2004 Ken, it is a very beautiful capture!Colors, and DOF as well.Congrt. Pnina Link to comment
home page1 0 Posted October 19, 2004 Here's the settings: handheld, no flash, auto WB, ISO 400, SS 1/320, f5.0, 90mm focal length, lens Canon EF 90-200 USM f2.8. Appreciate your interest. I tried some other shots with f2.8 and was amazed at how little DOF there was with only part of the bird's head in focus. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted October 20, 2004 Gorgeous image, Ken!! The detail is fabulous, and I'm amazed at the reddish colors in his breast feathers. (Thus, the name, duh Lou Ann!) :-D Anyway ... to be picky ... did you try a different crop? Either include the whole bird or crop it in much closer? Just a suggestion there ... it's a fabulous shot!! jayme 0 Posted October 20, 2004 Wow Ken, you must have been realy close to capture such detail in the hawk's eye. Nice job! Ken, they have redone so much at Berheim, I am now a little lost. All my favorite spots have been changed. I had a heck of a time last visit. I took the walk around the lake. It use to make a huge circle and end at the old center. Now, you have to cut through the grass to get to the old center at the end. They've built and are building these overlooks on the lake, very nice, but the trails have kind of been messed up. I'm sure they will correct this eventually. 2 of my favorite trees have been raised. I hate that! They were the 2 most beautiful in the fall, one turned bright red and the other bright yellow orange. Now gone! One of my favorite spots was the employee picnic area, can't find it anymore, since they started building the new research center, it was in that direction. One other spot that was my favorite was up on the knob, a short trail on the right, after the fire tower trail. It use to have a small clearing where you could look out almost to Jim Beam. It also is missing. So I am confused to say the least. It's all new, including the entrance, which at this time of year use to have the most beautiful pink flowering bushes....gone! Rose garden.....gone! They are in a transition period, so I'm hoping next year to find my way again! LOL Link to comment
