lightwriting by swapan 0 Posted October 20, 2004 I just wish you shot it without the railing ! Even then, I like this image very much ! Congratulations. Link to comment
tc_reed 0 Posted October 20, 2004 Totally nailed this! It's a shame the railing is in the way. That's the only reason I don't do a full fall shot. I guess it can always be cloned out. Great job! Link to comment
robidooo 0 Posted October 20, 2004 I do like to see the railing because it kind of create a three level photo. The bottom, the middle with the bridge and the top where the fall originate. Well seen. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 20, 2004 Nice job -- I've been there, and it's quite difficult just to get the entire falls into a single frame; as I recall, the 28 mm on my Spottie just barely gets it all in. You simply can't avoid the railing -- and in any case, it's part of the scene, just like the bridge above the lower fall. Beautifully done, and on a good day for the foliage colors, too -- in that area, the leaves tend to blow off the trees before they turn much more than shows in this image. Again, nice job! erikadams 0 Posted October 20, 2004 I don't think I've seen a photo of Multnomah Falls with the railing in the foreground. I like it. Nice photo. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 21, 2004 So now instead of framing the shot properly on site we reduce ourselves to preparing sterile pictures in PS? All that does is give u skill at PS, does nothing for improving your photography. The "race to the front" of TRP seems to be the best PS artist wins mentality now. Pretty soon we will only need to go out of the house 1 time then keep modifying the same pic...real exciting. I can accept the railing fine. Its a beautiful shot. Maybe some could consider..this guy probably knows theres a railing there. He has the guts to post a pic as a tourist shot anybody COULD attempt, yet makes it stand above the rest. If it wasn't there guys like me with no idea where this is could think it was outta some jungle in S America, and be left to wonder. 7/6 Link to comment

plasmatic 0 Posted October 21, 2004 Why remove the railing? I think it gives the image a sense of space. Without it it wouldn't seem as three dimensional. The only thing I might have done would be to get a little bit closer to the rail, however, I dont know if that is possible or not and get the framing you want. I have never been there. Excellent shot. 7/6 Link to comment
kyang 0 Posted October 21, 2004 This is great place at good time. I am not for the railing. Including railing would be fine regarding to the composition. However, it just remind people this is a tourist spot and everyone could shot it. If you want to shot it as a naturescape work, in majority cases, I may think we need distant such objects. Still very nice work. Link to comment
