Tiffany, just one remark: Great!

Keep playing. Try something with colorbalance, with the contrast and also with brightness (just a tiny bit) and you'r done. Love to see you create more. Fantabulous.

Thanks Hans...I always appreciate the constructive words. I actually did monkey with this image a bit. This was my favorite version. I know that I don't usually share the photonet aesthetic norm, but I can usually defend my choices. In this case, leaving it red and dark added to the ugliness of the image...which was kind of my point. As in my presentation of this work, this piece is called "GREED"

A Without-Reason-To-Live caught in American flame kind of dream. This is what I see. Tiffany, I don't know your interpretation/intention but I do share your aesthetics.

this is very good.

to my french understanding about america, this immediatly refers to the secession war.

don't know if it was your intention, though.

maybe more of that reflection on the foreground would have made it even better.

the "halo" around the person is a bit annoying too.

else, very good.

Behel, This goes a little deeper than the Civil War.

All (virtually) capital in the United States has been created from the blood of minorities. Whether it was the Chinese and the railroads or the Blacks and agriculture. The list goes on and on. In addition, it has been the minorities who have fought hardest for this country and in return, been continually oppressed and exploited.

I willget off my soapbox now....What halo are you referring to? I must be so full of piss and vinegar, that I am blind to it.

i tried to be ironic in foreign language and f... up again, obviously.

ok, "my cause is just" and i didn't mean any offense in anyway, tiffany.

we all know this is not hollywood.

about this "halo" or i don't know how to call it.

in comparison to the solid black background, there is an obvious variation in the density of the black ink all around the body, creating some kind of hazy halo.

don't know why you can't see it.

"it's here, i know it's here, i will find it and destroy it, my cause is just !"

I wasn't being sassy at you...just passionate. Actually, The Civil War would be a likely association. I walk the fine line of being heavy handed here, because I usually like the viewer to make up their own mind as to what an image means. Like my post on the title of that awesome portrait you did of the cross-gender. your post on this seemed like an invitation for me to open up my opinionated flood gates. I am always interested in your opinion.

But, I don't see a halo. It must be my monitor...Because of all my crazy yesterdays, I see a halo around just about everything...not this, though. I trust you. But, I can't fix something that I can't see.

Yes! There is a halo on my laptop screen that I cannot see in my desktop screen. Funny technology interfering with truth and reality! It is true that the photo looks even better without this effect. Behel, just make abstraction of it. I am glad I didn't fall far with my interpretation. A Without-Reason-To-Live can be any of those minorities and people in distress. But I must admit I have phrased it purposely large to catch everything (as does the photograph, for that matter).

That's awesome stuff. thank you for passing it on. I just had a shoot, that will produce the human part of the collage. So, the series is underway...thanks for the inspiration.

On the day after the US election I find this image wonderful. For me it has substance, projects feelings I identify with and satisfies an emotional state I otherwise have difficulty expressing. Is it what the artist intended? I have no idea. Content is in the eye of the beholder. As artist we may have ?intent? and maybe we can judge our success on whether or not it is communicated. For me it is not inherent in my liking something that I understand the artist intent. Nor do I view photographic art as the tools and technology we use, but rather, I see the image. This is one of my favorites. Thank you.
