AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Placement is good, but it is a bit underexposed. Those yellow tips really have potential. Link to comment
thor 0 Posted October 19, 2004 longer exposure would blow out the white...a more saturating film might be a better option. i like it regardless. Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted October 19, 2004 Javin, we're not talking about a 2 stop increase, and she didn't use film in the first place. My guess is the flower was so white that it actually fooled the camera meter into making it middle grey. Just like photographing snow normally does. Properly exposed this would be a high-key photograph. Quite stunning in my opinion, too. Karen, with your permission, I've uploaded a tonally more balanced version, though, I went easy on the image. You could probably even bring the mid-tones up some more. I really like Clematis, they're so photogenic. Link to comment
karen rexrode 0 Posted October 22, 2004 Aaron, The image was a more gray one to begin with, the bounce flash helped but yes, I did work with color balance, primarily curves to set the whites to 250 and blacks to 10. I do like your version - the stamens are more prominent. Thanks so much. Link to comment
